Information update: 30 November 2010

As at the end of November 2010 the following interest has been shown from potential competitors in the air weapon events. 4 Men's Air Rifle, 4 Ladies AIr Pistol, 2 Men's Air Pistol and 1 Ladies Air Rifle. Subject to there being no unforseen constraints, the Guernsey Air Rifle Association intends to nominate 2 competitors in the Men's Air Rifle event, 2 Ladies Air Pistol, 2 Men's Air Pistol and 1 Ladies Air Rifle. Accordingly, GARA will organise two shoulder-to-shoulder competitive shoots, one in December 2010 and one in January 2011 in order to determine which of the Men's Air Rifle and Ladies Air Pistol to nominate.

A date of Saturday 11 December 2010 has been set for the first shoot, to be held at Cobo United Air Rifle Club. All four Men Air Rifle and four Ladies Air Pistol candidates will shoot together. The event will commence at 1pm. The first shoot will consist of 60 shots for Air Rifle and 40 shots Ladies Air Pistol. The second shoot (possibly Saturday 15 January 2011 - yet to be confirmed) will also consist of 60 shots for Men's Air RIfle and 40 shots for Ladies Air Pistol but this event will include a Final of 10 shots as will be the case at the Island Games. All scoring will be as per the Island Games competition.

Results of these qualifying shoots will be updated on this website.
